Provincial Christmas Collection: L'Occitane Arlésienne

L'Occitane's Arlésienne limited edition collection contains the most beautiful products, perfect Christmas gifts for the favourite ladies in your life, but also marks the most gorgeous new scent by the brand that's quite hard to resist buying for yourself too!

L'Occitane don't do things by halves and the inspiration for this Arlésienne collection was a group of women from that Arles district in France who represent the essence of ethereal femininity and encompass the beauty of Provence. These iconic women also inspired designer Christian Lacroix to do an exhibition in tandem with the release of this collection, also inspired by the women of his home town, Arles, which you can read more about here.

I have absolutely loved L'Occitane products since the moment I discovered them years ago and not a Christmas goes by where I don't gift a friend or family member with products from the brand but I recently was educated about L'Occitane properly and now I love it so much more. The ethics of sourcing ingredients for the products; the inspiration behind the lines and the altruism of the company really blew me away. Not to talk of the research that goes in to make such high quality beauty products. L'Occitane have earned their huge following and endless glowing reviews over the years and this Arlésienne collection is no exception.

With the perfume being the main inspiration of the collection of course, Arlésienne is a fragrance that, unlike so many perfumes, appeals to a wide sensibility. I rarely buy anyone perfume as a gift, unless I know already it's their favourite scent, because everyone's taste is so different but I've actually been getting a lot of people to smell Arlésienne Eau de Toilette and got such positive reviews across the board. I think it's because of the variety of ingredients used in the perfume and the fresh, romantic scent that makes this perfume a gorgeous all rounder, which makes it not only safe to buy as a Christmas gift but also such a luxurious treat.

With the bottle designed by L'Occitane founder Olivier Baussan, Arlésienne fragrance is a combination of Saffron, Rose and Violet and also contains mandarin orange, lily of the valley, sandalwood, and tonka bean. Good enough to eat!

The fragrance is here to stay but much of the collection is limited edition and is all based on the fragrance. So, the staples of the collection include the Eau de Toilette (€45.50), the amazing Body Oil (€26) which my favourite of the lot but I always love body oils, Shower Cream (€17.50), Beauty Milk (€24.50), Perfumed Soap (€5), and the Velvet Hand Cream (€10.50). The limited edition products of the collection include Hair Mist (€19), Beautifying Powder (€32), Gorgeous Lips (€10), Solid Perfume (€10) and the beautiful Perfumed Candle (€28). L'Occitane's website (www.loccitane.ie) and their gorgeous boutiques also have lots of gift sets including variations of the line which would make perfect Christmas gifts this year.

I'll be featuring lots more gift ideas from L'Occitane in the coming weeks but this limited edition collection is the perfect place to start if you really want to treat someone to a luxury beauty gift this Christmas!

The L'Occitane Arlésienne collection is available from L'Occitane boutiques nationwide and at http://ie.loccitane.com/
